Timesco is the UK's No.1 Laryngoscope brand, producing one of the largest ranges of premium quality laryngoscopes in the world.
In 1964, operating from premises opposite London’s Middlesex Hospital Timesco began its life as a manufacturer of surgical instruments supplying wholesale and distributor markets.
In 1980, as the business became more and more successful, a move to larger premises in Kings Cross, North London, took place.
By the late nineteen eighties, the sales and product range had grown to the extent that Timesco began to promote its own branded products directly to the NHS.
In 1995 new corporate headquarters near London City Airport, in the heart of London’s Docklands, were established. This meant a doubling of personnel was necessary, including multi-lingual staff to manage the still rapidly expanding export business.
At the same time, Timesco started to trade in multi-currencies. The product portfolio had grown still further and advanced IT systems were introduced to automate both administration and materials processing procedures.
Finally in 1997 Timesco increased its guarantee on its core range from a 5 year period to a Lifetime period – a testament to the outstanding quality of both products and customer service.
What we do..
As the UK’s no. 1 supplier of laryngoscope products, we are committed to further developing and innovating within this important market. Our range of both re-useable (Optima - Fibre Optic and Orion-Standard Light) and single use products (Callisto-Fibre Optic and Europa - Standard Light) is probably one of the most extensive of its kind available and addresses the needs of a wide variety of adult patients’ right through to pediatrics and neonates and also to those patients with difficult airway pathology.
We match these light source choices with blade design choices such as modified Macintosh i.e.Polio and Obtuse; Miller; Wisconsin; Oxford; Magill; Robertshaw and Seward as well as the more popular standard Macintosh blade. We are also able to produce specific blade types to customer specification.

ViewMax®, a patented Timesco technology, built into all of our Eclipse (Mcoy type) blades and also available in our standard Macintosh and modified Macintosh Polio blades, is a significant step forward in the development of laryngoscope blade design. ViewMax® features a concave blade spatula, which allows an improved view of the larynx and surrounding structures. This enables users to visualise the vocal cords without having to apply nearly as much lifting force to the handle. Not only does this make intubation considerably easier to achieve, but it also reduces the risk of morbidity. Viewmax® has been found to improve intubations (POGO score) in some difficult airway scenarios.

In recognition of its significant contribution to the development of medical devices used within the NHS, Timesco was named as a finalist in the coveted, Thames Gateway Business Awards 2005. It subsequently won both the ‘Business of the Year’ category and the ‘Innovation’ category, an outstanding achievement.
